I am all about easy dessert recipes. After preparing, cooking, serving, and cleaning up a big dinner, one of the last things I want to worry about is making another difficult dish. For this reason, I always have a few easy dessert recipes handy. My apple crisp recipe is not only ridiculously easy to make and delicious, but it can be prepared hours ahead.
Ingredients
- 5 apples
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup flower
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
- Vanilla ice cream

Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Peel and dice the apples. Place them in a bowl. Toss the apples with the lemon and vanilla. When well combined, place the apples in bakeware. You can use a pie dish, crocks, square or rectangular glass dishes, etc.

In the same bowl combine the oats, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. In a separate bowl or sauce pan, melt the butter completely. Once melted, pour the butter over the dry mixture. Mix the dry ingredients and the melted butter until completely combined.
Once combined, crumble the mixture atop the apples. Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Serve with vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
