Despite it being Spooky Season, we’re already preparing for Thanksgiving and trying out some new recipes! 🦃 Cranberry sauce is a holiday meal staple, and one of our favorites. Here is the recipe for my easy holiday cranberry sauce:
Ingredients
- 12 oz bag of fresh cranberries
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1/4 c. orange juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (if you prefer more, add to taste)
Directions
Add all the ingredients in a medium saucepan. Cook on medium until the cranberries are falling apart, and stir consistently. Once the cranberries are falling apart (and kind of “mushy”) turn the flame to low and stew for 5-7 minutes.
That’s it!
I think one of my favorite things about homemade cranberry sauce is that you really can’t mess it up. It’s all about personal taste. Do you like the sauce sweeter? Add more sugar. Do you want it to be more natural? Use honey instead. Are you a fan of cinnamon? Add as much as you’d like. The recipe I gave above is a simple, traditional holiday cranberry sauce that’s a base crowd pleaser.
Enjoy!
