Welcome to the -ber months! (AKA: the most wonderful time of the year!) I am over the moon that it is officially September. It’s basically one big month of Halloween-eve and if you know me, you know that’s my favorite holiday and time of year.
I was recently having this discussion with some friends: I am so intrigued by the American cultural obsession with autumn. It’s not just me. Like, everyone is obsessed with this time of year and season. It’s as if something in the air shifts and we are heightened with wonder and excitement (and a little fright, too). The adrenaline just keeps pumping through our veins and keeps us on our toes. The cool air blows in and it’s like summer is a distant memory even though last week we were all barbecuing and watching Shark Week.
Maybe it’s because we all need something to look forward to? I mean, the holiday season brings with it delicious food and gatherings, cozy clothing that’s actually comfortable to wear, and genuine joy. And look, I know some of y’all dislike your families around the holidays (for whatever silly reason), but everyone looks forward to mom’s turkey dinner and playing Santa.
I am so happy it’s the -ber months once again. I, naturally, celebrated with a Pumpkin Spice Latte, picked up some festive candles (they’re on sale right now at Bath & Body Works!), and cozied up with a horror movie later on in the day.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but we have a lot of big changes coming up and I’ll be sure to share the details here soon. In the meantime, welcome to the -ber months!
