Hello! I hope everyone’s been having a fantastic spring break and a blessed Easter! My husband and I took a few days off to visit the West Coast and it was absolutely magical. It was the first time either of us were on the West Coast and we cannot wait to plan our next vacation out there!
Our vacation was primarily in Napa, California, but we did have the opportunity to spend an evening in San Francisco before our red-eye out of the city. (I will be posting a few different Napa travel guides so stay tuned!)
We really only had a few hours in San Francisco so we just went out to dinner and visited the Golden Gate Bridge for some Insta-worthy picture moments.
The Golden Gate Bridge was really beautiful and it was definitely worth visiting. I genuinely believe that seeing the Bridge is a cultural experience for Americans across the country and I am glad I finally had the opportunity to see it. Scott McKenzie’s San Francisco played in my head the whole time I was standing in the overlook, haha!
Many of the restaurants in the city were closed on Monday nights, but we did have the opportunity to visit Sodini’s Green Valley on Green Street. Sodini’s was voted the best Italian restaurant in San Francisco in 2021, so that was an experience, also! We shared the streamed mussels in white wine for an appetizer, which was amazing. Following that, we had salad, soup, and our main courses. Dan ordered chicken parmigiana and I had the chicken marsala. Both of these dishes were awesome and came with a side of linguine.
I must say that these Italian dishes at Sodini’s were a bit different than what I am accustomed to on the Jersey Shore at Italian restaurants. The minestrone soup was creamy, and my side of pasta came with a meat sauce instead of a traditional marinara.
Overall, I do wish that we had the opportunity to spend more time in San Francisco and it’s on our list for next time. We are hoping to catch a baseball game out there in the future!
