HOWDY, Y’ALL!
I cannot believe it’s been almost two months since I visited Nashville, Tennessee! We were visiting for a friend’s bachelorette party and WOW: I completely understand why Nashville is such a hot destination right now! It’s fun, vibrant, lively, and there is something for everyone. I guess I had this misconception that in order to enjoy Nashville you have to love country music and that’s simply untrue. Country music is not my favorite (My Favorite Albums of All Time, for reference) but I do enjoy some of it. Nonetheless, I came home rockin’ cowgirl boots and can’t wait to go back!
Highlights of the Trip
There were so many highlights to this trip, but I am going to stick to just a few for the purposes of time. My favorite highlights were the shopping opportunities, visiting the Belle Meade Historic Site for a bourbon tasting, the Honky Tonk bus at night, brunch at the White Limozeen, and (of course) all the live music on Broadway.
Shopping
Okay, let’s just say I came home with three new pairs of cowgirl boots… And an extra little pair for my son, haha!
Big Time Boots was one of my favorite places to shop. They had a huge selection of boots to choose from and a huge range of prices. (One word of advice: they are very crowded so make sure you have time!) I also got a custom-fitted hat while I was in Nashville. They steamed the hat and everything after sizing my head. (This is going to sound terrible but I cannot remember exactly the name of the hat shop. I am going to keep looking around and I’ll update the post!)
Visiting Belle Meade
If you know me, you know I love a good wine tasting. However, I’ve never done a bourbon tasting before and I finally had the opportunity to do so while visiting the Belle Meade Historic Site. Not only did I learn that I apparently love bourbon, but the experience itself was super cool. Our guide was incredibly knowledgable and kind, the drinks were delicious, and I learned so much. The history of bourbon in the United States is simply fascinating.
The Belle Meade Historic Site is also beautiful. The grounds are so lovely and after our bourbon tasting we enjoyed some wine and cheese outside in the gardens.
Honky Tonk Bus
As you’re walking down Broadway (or really even any of the side streets in Nashville) you will undoubtedly come across groups of parties on large buses blasting music, enjoying cocktails, and having a great time. Well, we got to do this, too!
The Honk Tonk Party Express was such a wild experience, haha! I think my favorite thing about the bus was how everyone in town was, like, in on it? Everyone we passed cheered and danced, etc. It was so funny.
Brunch at the White Limozeen
Guys, the White Limozeen might actually be the cutest restaurant I’ve ever visited. Everything was decked out in hues of pink and it was the perfect bachelorette destination. There were also plenty of photo opportunities.
Word of advice, though: it’s hard getting a reservation. We booked ahead of time so we were good, but even the first group in line who did not have a reservation had to wait like two hours for a table. (Also, the cheese board was awesome.)
Music on Broadway
The live music in all the Honky Tonks was probably my overall favorite part of Nashville. Seeing the amazing talent all over the city was just such an awesome experience. My two favorite places were Miranda Lambert’s Casa Rosa and the Lucky Bastard Saloon. Casa Rosa was totally packed, lively, and just such a good vibe. The Lucky Bastard Saloon was so much fun! It was a totally different vibe than Casa Rosa, but the music was A+.
Overall…
I loved Nashville. I cannot wait to go back!
If you’ve been to Nashville, what did you do? I would love to hear!
