A (Much Needed) Slow Saturday

I cannot express how thankful I am for slow weekends.
Most of my time is spent hurrying around, working, making appointments, completing tasks and errands, etc. But today was different, and for that I am grateful.
Today our son woke up at his normal 6:30ish time, but we cuddled together while I enjoyed coffee and he enjoyed apple juice. Then we had a nice breakfast, got ready for the day, and went out together as a family.
We grabbed lunch, shopped around, visited the bookstore, came home, cooked a great dinner, and just relaxed. The whole day was just easy.
Now I am preparing to take a hot bath and then curl up next to my husband and settle in with a true crime documentary (yes, they are truly relaxing to some of us!).
Days like these make me lament the fact that not every day is like this. However, when I really stop to think about it: I’m glad.
If every day was like this one, I wouldn’t have appreciated it so much. The ability to be grateful is a gift just as much as these days are.
And again, for this I am grateful.
