Happy Friday! I cannot believe this week is almost over.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I go through periods when I read a lot, and other periods when I read nothing. There is no in between for me. I either finish three novels in a week, or don’t pick up a book for months.
I don’t know why I’m like this, but I do want to make more of an effort to keep up with my reading. Not only is reading great for the mind, but it keeps us evolving as people. Every time I finish a new book, I feel like my mind expands — as if a very real library that exists in my brain grows every time I finish a book and it becomes added to the catalog.
With that being said, I recently picked up a new book that I intend on reading this month. (Okay: the book is “new” to me. Whatever.)
Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie
If you know me, you know I am a fan of all things spooky. I love scary movies, true crime podcasts, horror literature, etc. I am also a huge fan of the Queen of Spookiness, herself, Agatha Christie. Unfortunately, I did not discover my love for Christie until after college. I just never read her works and didn’t think to until my husband picked me up a few of her books.
With all of that being said, I absolutely refuse to watch a Christie film adaptation before reading the book. The film adaptation of Death on the Nile came out this week and I really want to see it! I picked up a copy at the bookstore and that’s what I’ll be reading for the next few days.
If you see the movie, let me know how it is!
