Sautéed Broccolini

Sautéed broccolini is one of our favorite side dishes! Not only is it absolutely delicious, but it is also super easy and very healthy. I also find that it pairs well with just about any dinner, from steak to roasted chicken.

Ingredients

Directions

Clean the broccolini. Cut about 1 inch off the bottoms of the stems and set aside.

Bring a pot of water to a rapid boil. While waiting for the boil, prepare an ice bath in a large bowl. Once the water is boiling, add the broccolini to the water for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Once done and very vibrantly green, immediately remove the broccolini and plunge them into the ice bath to cool. Once cooled, remove the broccolini bunches and set aside.

Heat the olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes in a sauté pan on medium heat for about 1 minute. Do not let the garlic burn! After about a minute add the broccolini and sauté for about 5 minutes. Be sure to turn the broccolini as it cooks. Sprinkle the salt and pepper over the bunches.

After cooking for about 5 minutes, remove from the pan and enjoy!
